Our specifically designed weighing system determines the weight of every single steel slab on the hot roller conveyor line after the continuous casting zone.

FLINTAB’s design for this complex weighing system has been implemented in the marking area of the slabs without any work or modification to the existing conveyor line. This was a specific requirement due to very limited possible time to stop the casting process in the steel factory.
The weighing system uses a twin independent metal structures, load cells based raising platform/skeleton in conjunction with a hydraulic system to lift the steel slab from the rollers – a static and very accurate weighing is performed. The twin metal structure raising platforms was a must because of the various lengths of the manufactured slabs, so either one scale is used for shorter slabs or simultaneously both scales are used to weight the longer slabs.
